Julie Fritz will talk about her life as reflected in her recently published book of poetry, Twinings: Poems at Eighty. Fritz, who was formerly a marketing consultant and also a well-known water landscapes artist, grew up with few rules in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains in rural Tennessee, raised her family in Richmond, moved away to live in various places around the country (motorcycles feature prominently in her travels), and now is back living in Richmond. Her poetry touches on impressions of her challenging, exciting life: from how to calm cattle to women surviving their unique experiences. All proceeds from this event will go to the Massey Cancer Center.
